Our communities are under attack. Poor and working people in Detroit been under pressure from the state, and since Trump’s election there’s been a drastic spike in racist and fascist attacks, as well as more aggressive crackdowns on immigration and policing. We need to fight back as Detroiters. The Democrats, non-profits, and other government groups do not address and attempt to fix the issues we’re facing. We’ve gotta fight for it ourselves. Against evictions and gentrification, police, immigration raids, fascist attacks and organizing. All things meant to break up our lives and communities.
This panel discussion will be on a range of community self defense oriented organizing in Detroit. We’ll hear from folks from Rapid Response Detroit, Detroit Eviction Defense, as well as anti-fascist/anti-racist organizers. Childcare and translation will be available.
